The Queen’s Coins case
Assortment of Marie-Antoinette Pistoles : Madagascar origin 74% dark chocolate, Ecuador origin 66% dark chocolate with real Bourbon vanilla, verbena, orange blossom, almond milk chocolate and 46% milk chocolate.
To relieve her majesty Marie-Antoinette’s headaches, the pharmacist Sulpice Debauve created the first chocolate to chew in the history by mixing chocolate to the medicine to make it taste better.
The Queen, enjoying them greatly, named these medallions “Pistoles”.
Sulpice Debauve claimed that each recipe possessed a therapeutic effect, true to his motto “Utile Dulci!“.
Each pistole is engraved with a drawing inspired by the Queen’s jewellery collection.
